Detection of Neurodevelopmental and Neurological Disorders

Fraser neuropsychologists begin by giving each child a diagnostic evaluation. This establishes a picture of their cognitive abilities, their level of social, emotional and behavioral adjustment. An evaluation can also lead to the detection of neurodevelopmental disorders or neurological disorders.

Neurodevelopmental disorders include complex cases of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, developmental delay and learning disabilities. Neurological disorders might include seizures, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, Tourette’s disorder or infectious diseases.

Treatment Plans

If your child receives a diagnosis, Fraser neuropsychologists create intervention plans that center around your child’s strengths. They may also refer you to therapy providers, doctors and other educational and community resources that can strengthen your child’s social and emotional skills.
