Adolescent Day Treatment (ADT) provides a combination of group therapy and skills training to adolescents with autism. Interventions focus on building self-esteem, social interaction, communication, and coping skills to enable adolescents to function at a more developmentally appropriate level at school, at home, and in their community.

Fraser Community Living offers a transitional program designed to serve adolescent boys and young men in a home setting. Focus is placed on independent living skill development and regulating emotions to move toward a less-structured program or back in to the family home. The individuals either attend school, are working to find employment, or have a community job.

Fraser offers a comprehensive selection of assessments, evaluations, and testing to help identify strengths, needs, and treatment options. Your physician or clinician will recommend the right tests for you or your child.
  • Diagnostic Assessment: a 1- to 2-hour assessment conducted without formal testing, including a follow-up appointment to review results and recommendations.
  • Psychological Testing: an appointment, or a series of appointments, providing specific diagnostic information using standardized tests and questionnaires.
  • Neuropsychological Evaluation: usually referred by a physician, if a brain disorder or a neurodevelopmental disorder is suspected, like ADHD, language disorders, learning disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder. For children 6 and older.
  • Occupational Therapy Evaluation: addresses concerns related to sensory functioning, motor skills, self-care and adaptive skills.
  • Speech-Language Therapy Evaluation: addresses concerns related to language use and understanding, communication, speech sounds and articulation, speech fluency and vocal quality.
  • Physical Therapy Evaluation

Services for children who receive Medical Assistance (MA), MA through a Managed Care Program (PMAP) or are on the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act (TEFRA).

Fraser Career Planning and Employment offers a variety of services for teens and adults who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other diverse needs. Our services are available for those who are college-bound or are looking to explore employment options.

Fraser Case Management helps individuals with disabilities and their families find and access mental health, educational, recreational, social, and vocational services. Fraser is contracted to provide the following waiver services to people of all ages in Dakota, Hennepin, and Ramsey Counties:

  • Brain Injury (BI) Waiver
  • Community Access for Disability Inclusion (CADI) Waiver
  • Developmental Disability (DD) Waiver
  • DD Non-Waiver (Rule 185 and VA/DD)

Case Management helps individuals with intellectual and development disabilities and those with mental health conditions gain access to needed medical, social, educational, vocational, financial, and other resources that support their mental health.

Available to people of all ages in Dakota, Hennepin, and Ramsey Counties with the following waivers.

In a Fraser Family Consult, your family meets with a therapist to discuss concerns, needs, and primary challenges involving your child. A Fraser Family Consult may also include a review of your child’s medical records and consultations from specialty staff for speech, occupational and feeding therapy, and crisis supports.

Following your consultation, your child may receive a recommendation for treatment, which may begin immediately. You will also receive a support plan individualized to your family’s needs and recommendations for community supports and contacts.

Fraser offers individual, family, and group autism therapy options to help with social or emotional regulation and provide education regarding your diagnosis. We help you and your family address needs and achieve goals for better connections, interactions, and harmony.

Fraser Group Skills Training helps develop the social and emotional skills of the individual, family, or group. Fraser clinicians provide clients with tools for coping and interacting with others at home, at school, and in the community.

Fraser neuropsychology establishes a picture of a child’s cognitive abilities and social, emotional, and behavioral adjustment. An evaluation can also detect a neurodevelopmental disorders or neurological disorders, such as

Neurodevelopmental disorders include complex cases of attention deficit disorder (ADD), autism, developmental delay, and learning disabilities. Neurological disorders might include seizures, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors, Tourette’s disorder or infectious diseases.

Fraser Occupational Therapists use play and other age-appropriate activities to help children develop crucial skills, such as:
  • Fine motor skills, like eye-to-hand coordination
  • Gross motor skills, focusing on whole-body coordination
  • Daily living skills, like eating with utensils and writing
  • Sensory processing abilities, focusing on coping and calming strategies
For infants through teens.

Fraser therapists can help families dealing with issues of trauma, attachment development, grief and loss, and separation. Your child may also be struggling with his or her identity, race, ethnicity or open adoption relationships.

Foster Care and Adoption Support includes the following:

Physical Therapy helps children improve mobility, motor development, posture, strength, range of motion, balance, and coordination. Children participate in weekly or twice weekly outpatient sessions at a Fraser clinic.

Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is a caregiver-driven approach that includes assessment, proactively setting the stage for success, teaching new skills, reinforcing desirable behavior, and responding effectively to difficult behavior. Caregivers receive resources to learn more about PBS.

Fraser offers the following rehabilitation therapy services for infants and children up to age 12.

Fraser therapists use a variety of specialized therapies and techniques to improve each child’s results. We also coordinate care with parents, caregivers, teachers, other mental health professionals and primary care providers.

This is what mental health issues look like in students, but the causes behind the behavior may include anxiety disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorders, adjustment disorders, autism, trauma or stressor disorders, depression, and other mental illnesses.

Fraser partners with Head Start programs in Ramsey, Anoka, and Washington Counties and the School Districts of Edina, Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Bloomington to provide onsite mental health care to students and families. We also offer consultations and training for school staff on managing mental health issues and behavior in the classroom.

Speech-Language Therapy is for children who experience delays or difficulties with speaking, language, social communication, or eating and swallowing. Our experienced staff use play and age-appropriate activities to help your child develop:

  • Oral motor skills
  • Eating and swallowing abilities
  • Social skills
  • Augmentative and alternative communication (sign language, etc.)

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (also known as TF-CBT) is an evidence-based practice that helps children and adolescents who have significant emotional needs related to traumatic life events acquire effective coping strategies that improve behavior, well-being, and family functioning.
