Fraser services are designed to help individuals navigate autism, mental health issues, and special needs at every stage of life.
Fraser is well-known for serving children with autism and other mental health needs. However, Fraser also offers a variety of services that support Adult Mental Health.
The Fraser Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) program helps adults with mental health issues and developmental disabilities develop coping skills, gain confidence and participate in their community. Our clients learn to live independently, while successfully managing their conditions.
Meet Brian (not his real name). Brian was diagnosed with autism at the age of 7 and struggled with anxiety and depression his entire life, always feeling like he didn’t quite fit in. With the support of his parents, Brian secured a job after high school and seemed to be doing well. Unfortunately, as a result of COVID-19, Brian was laid off from work, which led him into a deep state of anxiety and depression. He felt isolated and wouldn’t leave his home for months. His parents were at a loss about what to do for him.
Then they found Fraser.
Trust was a huge issue for Brian, so Fraser let him set the pace for his treatment. Fraser also helped Brian define what success looked like for him. Over time, Brian and his therapist worked together to manage his anxiety and depression, and, eventually, Brian felt ready to begin working with Fraser’s Career Planning and Employment staff to find a new job.
Hear more about how Fraser’s Career Planning and Employment program helps teens and young adults transition from high school to college and the workforce in this FraserCast episode featuring Chris Bentley, director of Fraser's Career Planning and Employment program.
Without Fraser Adult Mental Health, Brian and many other young adults would not obtain the skills and treatment necessary to help them successfully transition into adulthood. That could mean a lifetime of lost opportunities and continued dependence on aging parents and family.
Your donations ensure the continuation of vital mental health services that support teens transitioning into adulthood, young adults finding their way into independence, and mature adults who are dealing with autism and one or more co-occurring conditions as they age. You can provide the expert services these individuals need to reach to their fullest potential, at every stage of life.
Thank you for lifting up your community. Your support has the power to change lives.
