For children who are at least 4 by September 1

Fraser’s pre-kindergarten is for children who will attend kindergarten the following year. We work with your child to build independence in dressing, toileting, and eating, and increasing your child’s attention span, so they will be ready for kindergarten.

Our classrooms include learners with a wide variety of abilities. We strive to maintain a child-to-staff ratio of 8:1 ratio.

Pre-K learning is still play-based learning, but the schedule is more structured and incorporates longer, large-group activities. Children rotate through learning centers that build academic, fine motor, music, and literacy skills — including journaling time — to practice writing their name.

In addition to using The Creative Curriculum for Preschool, teachers reference the MN Department of Education’s Early Childhood Indicators of Progress. During assessments, each child is evaluated on numeral, lowercase letter, and uppercase letter recognition. Teachers also complete the developmental assessment of the Teaching Strategies Gold.

Fraser School® is accredited through the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) and we are Four Star Parent Aware rated. Our teachers use The Creative Curriculum®, which is considered the gold standard for infant, toddler, and preschool curriculum. Children are assessed twice a year with Teaching Strategies Gold to monitor social/emotional, cognitive, physical and language development. We utilize Incredible Years for social and emotional curriculum.
