Transitions Day Treatment - Autism Services

Transitions Day Treatment

Entering adulthood is a difficult time for many. Fraser understands how crucial this time is for individuals with autism. Transitions Day Treatment is an intensive group therapy that focuses on mental health and helps individuals with autism develop needed skills. The group is for people ages 18 to 21 years old.

Learning Important Life Skills

Individuals learn self-advocacy, work on social communication and gain basic life skills. The groups have 9-12 adults with similar differences who work with two to three clinicians. Sessions are typically two to three days a week and the program lasts from six to nine months.

Fraser Transitions Day Treatment helps transition-age individuals become “unstuck” and have a better overall quality of life. Participants cover topics such as:
  • What is autism?
  • Defining neurodiversity
  • Managing your emotions
  • Practicing self-care
  • Creating, keeping and understanding relationships
  • Learning about yourself
  • Increasing confidence and resiliency
  • Finding meaningful employment
  • Identifying activities that are fun and fulfilling
  • Sharing joy with others
