Internship/Practicum Opportunities at Fraser

Many opportunities exist for graduate students looking for an internship/practicum in the mental health disciplines of social work, psychology, neuropsychology, marriage and family therapy or counseling; as well as the rehab disciplines of speech/language therapy, occupational therapy or music therapy at Fraser. Graduate interns and practicum students play an integral part of teams working with children. Students receive a rewarding and challenging learning experience through providing client care which is supervised by licensed mental health professional staff. Fraser programs include those for children who have emotional and behavioral problems, autism and other special needs.

Students can receive credit for their practica or internship work or simply volunteer for the learning experience. All Fraser programs are year-round and training experiences can range from three months to a year.

Undergraduate Internships Working with Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Undergraduate internships are available through the Fraser Autism Day Treatment Program. This program serves children between the ages of 2 – 7 with an autism diagnosis or related disorder.

In order to apply, watch the employment page for the Developmental Trainee (DT) position.  When the position becomes available, apply and notify the HR representative that you are interested in an undergraduate internship during the interview.  If hired, be sure to notify the DT Coordinator that you are completing an internship so that you can discuss your school’s internship requirements.  This is a paid internship opportunity.  We are looking for a semester-long commitment even if you finish your hours early.  This improves consistency and treatment for the children enrolled in the day treatment program.
