Nancy Booker
2003 Louise Whitbeck Fraser Award Recipient
Nancy has been volunteering for organizations and agencies that serve individuals with developmental disabilities for the past 37 years. In 1966, her daughter, Anne, was born with Down syndrome. Since that day, Nancy has focused her volunteer efforts on advocating for Anne and all people with developmental disabilities. Nancy became involved in every area that impacted Anne's life and, consequently, has improved the lives of many people.
Nancy has been instrumental in creating and strengthening many programs and fundraisers at Fraser, including the Fraser Bazaar, the FORE! Fraser Benefit Golf Classic, Cub Club, the establishment of Sheridan Court, Voices for Lifelong Learning, and giving her time to help educate and assist other families of children with special needs. In addition to volunteering at Fraser, Nancy has also donated her time and energy to many other nonprofits that serve individuals with special needs, including Opportunity Workshop, TRAIL, Vector, Office of Special Services — Bloomington, and Bloomington's Job Success Fair.
