The Fraser Family Focused Program is designed for families with young children who demonstrate a need for parenting support to reduce the risk of child abuse or neglect. The program’s philosophy upholds the importance of building on families’ strengths and modeling and supporting positive family interactions to empower parents to assume responsibility for enhancing their family relationships. Emphasis is placed on connecting families to services and resources within their community to ensure their basic needs are met. Programming involves education and advocacy around issues such as family life issues, parenting skills, relationship issues, self-esteem, health and hygiene, personality strengths and areas for growth, child development, behavioral management techniques and coping strategies.
Family Focused services are provided in the home and at Fraser School, an inclusive early childhood education center, serving children with typical needs and children with special needs. This unique setting allows children of all abilities to learn, play and grow side by side, and provides a challenging, enlightening and motivating environment for all.
