Learn Talk Play

Fraser® Rehabilitation Services

The Fraser Learn Talk Play Program is an innovative small group rehabilitation program for children with social communication and emotional regulation needs. It is co-led by a speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist and Fraser School lead teacher. Individualized speech-language and occupational therapy are provided in a small group setting integrating treatment objectives into program activities. Direct therapy is provided by a speech-language pathologist specializing in language development and social language (pragmatics) disorders and an occupational therapist specializing in fine motor development and sensory processing deficits. Participating children are included based on current abilities and needs in the areas of functional communication, social-pragmatic skills, emotional regulation and the ability to generalize skills across people, place and circumstance. Additional child care hours in an inclusive classroom can be scheduled before or after group for more comprehensive programming.

This program is through Fraser Rehabilitation Services and Fraser School. Fraser Rehabilitation Services provide comprehensive evaluation, consultation, and treatment services for children with motor and sensory dysfunction, decreased functional and developmental skills, feeding and swallowing difficulties, and speech, language, and hearing disorders. These therapy services are provided with an interdisciplinary approach and each child’s goals and activities are individualized, based on strengths, challenges, and motivations. Fraser therapists collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers and mental health practitioners to maximize results. Fraser School is an inclusive early childhood education center, serving children who have typical needs and children who have special needs. Our unique setting allows children of all abilities to learn, play and grow side by side, and provides a challenging, enlightening and motivating environment for all.
