Fraser provides assessments that review and evaluate skills and capacity to parent children in a safe and secure manner. Assessments include extensive interviews with parent or care provider being assessed, review of documentation provided through other professional services, and communication with parties pertinent to the assessment. A structured observation is also conducted to evaluate parenting skills.
These parenting assessments are through the Fraser Child and Family Mental Health Program, which provides services for children whose parents or caregivers have concerns about their developmental, behavioral and/or emotional well-being. The program also provides services which assist parents in evaluating and building their skills.
