Diagnostic evaluations are conducted by psychologists and consist of standardized testing, play-based observations and parent interviews. Diagnostic assessments are conducted by master-level, clinically trained mental health professionals and consist of play-based observations and parent interviews. These processes enhance planning for school placement and programming, adoptive placements, and mental-health treatment.
Diagnostic evaluations and assessments are provided through the Fraser Child and Family Mental Health Program which provides services for children whose parents or caregivers have concerns about their developmental, behavioral and/or emotional well-being. The program also provides services which assist parents in evaluating and building their skills.
