Autism Spectrum Disorders Day Treatment

Fraser Autism Program

This Fraser program builds on 20 years of experience providing services for children who have autism spectrum disorders. These disorders cause difficulties in communicating, learning, interacting, behaving, coping, expressing emotions and regulating oneself. Children attend the program for approximately three hours a day, two to five days a week. The program helps children to develop adaptive coping, problem-solving, and social skills so that they can regulate their emotions and better control their behavior. Intervention is provided one-to-one or through small group activities. Individualized treatment plans help each child to develop necessary skills.

The program uses multi-perspective approaches to intervention, including:

Our developmental curriculum emphasizes:

Inherent in the program are case management or care coordination services which assist a family in accessing, coordinating and benefiting from services. Family support groups are offered each week to provide support and guidance regarding skills learned in day treatment. Additional services are available to support children and families.

These services are through the Fraser Autism Program which provides evaluation and treatment services for children with autism spectrum disorders. The long-range goal of this program is to maximize each child's developmental potential while improving the child's functioning in family, school, and community environments. Services are tailored to individual needs using best practice methods from multiple perspectives.
