Fraser Studies Experiences of Individuals with Asperger's
Fraser recently conducted a study to determine if young adults with Asperger's Disorder display behaviors which might predict risks for adulthood. Compared to their typical counterparts, those with Asperger's were identified as having these positive behaviors:
- equally likely to graduate from high school;
- equally satisfied with their jobs; and
- less likely to have problems with alcohol or drug abuse.
Young adults with Asperger's were identified as having a slightly higher risk for threatening or aggressive behavior.
Mixed indicators for those with Asperger's included:
- less likely to be in a relationship or married;
- more likely to live with parents; and
- equally employed but with fewer hours and more frequent job changes.
