Conan's Story

WalkforAutism

"After receiving a preschool screening and school evaluation, we reached out to Fraser for a medical evaluation of my son Conan where he was diagnosed with autism at the age of 4. We quickly got him into Fraser Day Treatment.

After starting in Day Treatment, we noticed that Conan began engaging with others more, especially his younger sister. We were able to identify his challenges at home and work with Fraser to address specific areas of need.

A few months later, Conan began in Fraser Learn Talk Play, where his social skills improved dramatically. He LOVED his Occupational Therapist in Learn Talk Play. He made a great connection with her right away. At the 2015 Fraser Walk for Autism, he was a bit overwhelmed and confused seeing staff outside of Fraser; however, his face lit up as soon as he saw his favorite therapist.

It’s not just the clinicians and therapists that we appreciate at Fraser; all of the staff has been warm, welcoming and engaging. Conan even has a great relationship with the receptionist at Fraser Eden Prairie.

Fraser has changed our lives. They provide services to Conan that allow him to be successful in his everyday life. He's now attending Kindergarten full-time where he uses the practical life skills he's learning at Fraser every day. Our family will be participating in the Fraser Walk for Autism because we want to do all we can to make sure other families receive the services and supports they need."
