Partnerships Make Progress

"The partnership between Fraser and the pre-school resulted in phenomenal changes in Javaree’s behavior. His teachers felt he was ready to move to a mainstream pre-kindergarten program."

Preschool Mental Health Day Treatment

Fraser Preschool Mental Health Day Treatment serves children who have severe emotional and behavioral disturbances caused by mental health disorders, neurological vulnerabilities; traumatic experiences, including abuse, neglect, and exposure to domestic violence; exposure to drugs or alcohol; disrupted attachments to adults and significant changes in the family.

Children attend the program for three hours a day, five days a week. The program focuses on helping children to form trusting secure attachments to their parents or primary caregivers, which is crucial to their development.

In addition, the program helps children to develop adaptive coping, problem-solving, and social skills so that they can regulate their emotions and better control their behavior. Families have strong involvement in the program and receive support and guidance to help them work with their children to transfer these positive coping skills to the home.

Case management services are included, which assist a family in accessing, coordinating and benefiting from other needed services.

Fraser has unique collaborations with ECSE in Minneapolis Public Schools and Head Start in Ramsey County, which allows us to integrate programming at one site to provide consistent, easy scheduling for families.
