Fraser Employee Training

When you start working at Fraser, you can expect to have a thorough orientation to your job. Orientation at Fraser is conducted by Fraser Human Resources and is a requirement of every new staff member at Fraser. This orientation is offered every week unless canceled due to a holiday. It is typically scheduled on Mondays from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. This orientation is paid at your regular pay rate.

We cover the following information in basic orientation:

• An overview of Fraser and our programs
• HIPAA
• OSHA
• Maltreatment of Minors and Vulnerable Adults
• Overview of Fraser policies
• Basic payroll paperwork

Each division will have a basic orientation as well. This orientation will vary based on division and position. All divisional orientation will also be paid. If you have questions about what the divisional orientation will be for the division you are interested in, please speak with a Human Resources Representative during the recruitment process.

Depending on your job, there may other required training. As with all required training at Fraser, your training time will be paid. The trainings required of you will depend on the position you are hired for, and will be organized by your supervisor. Some of these trainings will take place at Fraser, and others will be conducted off-site. These trainings will vary based on job skills, duties and divisional policy.

• Child and Adult CPR
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
• Autism Training
• Other Diagnosis-Specific Training
• Client-Specific Training
• Therapeutic Techniques and Theory
• SIDS
• Shaken Baby Syndrome
• Partnering with Parents
• Medication Administration
• Technical Training

For those who take a professional or leadership position with Fraser, there are other basic management trainings which are required.

We have a growing catalog of trainings in this area. Current topics include:

• Employee Relations: How to handle performance concerns
• Introduction to Employee Leaves and Injuries
• Essentials of Leadership
• Interviewing Skills
• Time Management

Many staff at Fraser choose to independently build their skills, and take additional training to do so. This training can help build skills related to a current position, or to help a staff member earn a promotion. Fraser Human Resources often works with the Fraser Institute to provide some more in-depth, skill building training.
